Pre-Glamour Shoot: 10 Common Mistakes to Avoid

1) No Crash Diet: Eat Healthy and Plenty!

Desperate to drop a few pounds for your upcoming photoshoot? Think again!

Don't worry about those extra pounds. As a professional, I have all the right angles, lighting, and editing techniques to elegantly shape and slim your body. Besides, even losing 5-10 lbs will not be noticeable in your photos. Instead, a crash diet will leave you drained, impatient, and unable to hold those glamorous poses.

2) Avoid the Dizzy Route: Stay Hydrated!

You might think drinking less water will help you appear less bloated during the photoshoot. In reality, it can lead to weakness, dizziness, and even fainting. Hydration is vital to your well-being, especially during a photoshoot. (Yes! I have had a client faint during a shoot because of dehydration.)

3) Save the Miami Party for After the Shoot!

We get it. You're excited to be in Miami! But remember, a well-rested model is a photogenic model. A photoshoot is several hours long and can be physically challenging if you are not used to posing. You need your body to be ready for the shoot's physical activities, especially if you're shooting outside, where the heat and elements drain your energy even faster.

4) Avoid the Orange Skin: Skip the Self-Tan!

Are you thinking of using a self-tanning cream? Don't!

It usually leaves your skin looking unnaturally orange and blotchy in digital photos, which is challenging to fix post-production. Don't worry, though - I'm here to provide alternatives.

5) Pampering Yourself: Shave, Mani, & Pedi!

High-resolution digital cameras catch everything, right down to the fill of your chipped nails or a missed shave. So remember to Invest time in a fresh shave or wax, manicure, and pedicure. For the best results, take care of these grooming tasks a day in advance to avoid any potential skin irritation ensuring the camera captures nothing but your best.

6)  Leave Makeup to the Pros!

Our professional makeup artists are here to give you celebrity-style, luxury-glamour results. They know how to help you look your absolute best, hiding blemishes and accentuating your features in a way regular makeup might miss. Yes, they are experienced in all skin tones and ages, guaranteeing you're photo-ready. Investing in professional makeup is the standard of a luxury glamour shoot.

7) No to Tight Clothes: Yes, Sundress!

Avoid all clothes that might leave marks on your skin. These will be visible in high-resolution photos and are challenging to edit out. Opt for something like a loose sundress for your pre-shoot outfit. No jeans, leggings, fishnets, boots, or clothing holding onto your skin on the day of your shoot.

8) Avoid multicolor or Traditional Swimwear:  Pick the Perfect Swimwear for your body.

Choosing swimwear isn't just about style; it's about fit. The fabric should lay taut and flat, and you want something that accentuates your natural beauty, not distract from it. Our stylist is here to help you make the right choice.

9) Lingerie Missteps: Why Knowing Your Body Type Matters!

Not all lingerie styles flatter all body types. Understanding your body type makes a huge difference, especially in a glamour photoshoot. Your lingerie should compliment your body type for a balanced look.

10) No Last-Minute Rush: Plan to Succeed!

Don't leave anything you need to do or buy for the day of your shoot. This only adds stress to your day and increases the chance of having something not ready. A relaxed and stress-free you will result in better pictures. Remember, photography is an art, and art cannot be rushed.

Finally, keep your schedule clear after the shoot, allowing ample time for a relaxed shoot.
